The market leader in regulatory consulting with employment, health &safety outsourcing for SMES as well as tax fee protection solutions for accountancy firms.
You cannot understand the regulatory compliance market unless you under stand what Peninsula do well (and maybe not so well too). Peninsula were originally a break away from the IRPC northern team, who had in turn become independent of Willis Coroon insurers. This is a market where the apples rarely fall far from the tree. Taking the business model to its logical conclusion through the nineties and noughties in particular, Peninsula have been aggressive in their approach. Rigorous sales, training and support lead a good enough service delivery ethic, backed by a captive insurance service (Irwell) for smaller SMES. This is the team everyone loves to hate, but you have to admire their strengths. They know how to play a leading hand and do not take prisoners or passengers. They have a focus on national sales, they defend their brand robustly, and lately they have been driving 5 year client contracts and smaller acquisitions. As well as hoovering up declining brands like First Assist and Croner/IRPC recently they’re doing rather well in Australia in particular. Led by Peter Done, the team also exemplify the captive insurance style of business through Irwell Insurance. This is a large and complex business now, explained fully in the NED Profile. Expansion recently has all been around Irish and Australian operations while the UK operations are quite mature.
